3. Diploma in Business Sciences (Banking & Financial Services) The course is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him/her to perform duties in the banking and financial sector in Kenya and the Region. A graduate of this course will be able to work in a salaried or self-employment. To achieve this, units such as entrepreneurship, business com¬munication, life skills, French, information and communication technology have been included. Programme Objectives The general objectives of the technical training programmes are to: a) apply lending principles; b) apply monetary and financial systems in the banking sector; c) apply principles of banking in the banking industry; d) analyse financial statements for lending purposes; e) make investment decisions in a banking sector.
